Sam Houston State University College of Criminal Justice professor Danielle S. Rudes has been awarded the 2024 Excellence in Research Award by the International Corrections and Prison Association (ICPA). The accolade recognizes research that aligns with ICPA’s mission to promote effective and humane correctional policies and procedures.
Mitchel P. Roth is receiving the Frederic Milton Thrasher Award for Superior Accomplishments in Training by the National Gang Crime Research Center (NGCRC). The award recognizes superior scholarship, leadership, accomplishments and service contributions by those who work in public safety issues, such as those posed by gangs.
The Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (SHSU-COM) announces a newly awarded $4,990,476, four-year Research and Development Infrastructure (RDI) grant from the U.S. Department of Education. This prestigious grant is part of the RDI program’s mission to invest in research infrastructure, faculty expertise and workforce development. Li-Jen Lester, a professor of computer science and associate dean of the College of Science and Engineering Technology at Sam Houston State University, led a successful, collaborative workshop in Indonesia as part of her participation in the Fulbright Specialist Program. The workshop developed teacher educator competencies in STEM-based learning and was held in partnership with the faculty of mathematics and natural sciences at Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ), and its STEM Education Centre.
