ACCUPLACER
The ACCUPLACER measures key skills needed for academic and workforce success. The assessment includes reading, writing, math, ESL, essay, and institution-specific test options.
Note: This exam does not satisfy TSI requirements. The TSIA 2.0 is required to satisfy TSI requirements.
Scheduling Options and Exam Length
- Test delivery options: In-person or remote
- Exam length: 3-hour time limit
Test Fee
- First attempt: $53.50
- Retest:
- 1 subject: $18.50
- 2 subjects: $33.50
- Full exam: $53.50
Please note: All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Test Day Requirements
- If testing in person, please arrive 15 minutes before your exam start time.
- You must bring the following forms of ID with you on test day:
- Valid photo ID - cannot be expired and must include a photo
- Examples: Driver's license, passport, state-issued ID, military ID, student ID
- Valid secondary ID - no photo necessary
- Examples: Secondary photo ID, library card, credit/debit card
- SamID number (or voucher number if you are not a SHSU student)
- Valid photo ID - cannot be expired and must include a photo
Test Scores and Retests
- After you complete your exam, your ACCUPLACER scores will be available immediately.
- You can also view your scores in the ACCUPLACER Student Portal.
- There is no required waiting period to retake the ACCUPLACER. You may retest any time based on the availability of the Testing Center.
